04.07.2018- My Month in Pictures: June


Phew! June- done! And time for a six month retrospective on how the year is ticking along so far- things are moving quickly but I’m really happy to have had a big weight lifted off of my mind by getting to the bottom of a personal medical mystery recently, firmly sticking to the resolution which I set myself at the start of the year to prioritise self care and stop ignoring those little niggles. Otherwise, I’ve also reignited a love for getting lost in a good book, and have got some much-anticipated travel in the offing for the next few weeks- watch this space for more soon! The last month has been quite a lovely one too, with a fair proportion of cultural consumption peppered with some other fun:













Summer skincare from Origins/A new planting project from Burt's Bees/Blue skies/Finally visiting On the Bab!/Peace & Love/Weekends/A new favourite from The Body Shop/Sea Wall at The Old Vic- incredible/Secret corners/Translations at the National Theatre- another treat/Garden love/The Lieutenant of Inishmore!





The rest of this month is shaping up to be a lovely one- starting tomorrow with a visit to the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show!

If I'm being totally honest, there aren't all that many things which will get me out of bed early at the weekends, let alone earlier than I would usually be up and out of the house during the week. 29.11.2017- London Loves: Glossier's Marylebone Pop Up

Another week, another post all about Glossier! Thankfully for my bank balance, I haven't raided their online shop again just yet, but instead made it along to their temporary store in Marylebone, which appeared at 32 Portland Place for a week from 15-22 November. Much like the UK online launch, the unveiling of this pop up space was hugely hyped, and something which was well worth a peruse one lunchtime: Tucked away just behind the BBC ( W1A quoting a-plenty!), this plush townhouse offered the perfect showcase for Glossier's signature aesthetic, with walls painted in millennial pink and gorgeous velvet sofas in a trendy hue of teal offering the perfect perch. Festooned with fresh flowers, the shop and showroom space spread across two floors, complete with all of Glossier's cult favourites and newly launched debut fragrance too. 30.01.2019- On Learning To Trust Yourself

So, here we are at the end of January- we made it! For some inexplicable reason, this month seems to last about a hundred times as long as any other, but it always feels like an achievement when you get to the end- a five week marathon of early morning alarms, cold weather and a seemingly neverending wait until payday. As well as all of the above, the start of any new year can always be a little bit overwhelming, especially if you're spinning lots of plates at once, are generally feeling a little bit run down or are as deflated as a blow-up snowman after the excitement and seemingly never-ending series of meetups during the festive season.  Whilst I'm not a believer in Blue Monday or any of the other general 'new year, new you' nonsense which this month in particular is synonymous with, January is a toughie for a lot of different reasons for me, but more particularly because it's a month which features a few anniversaries of family members passing away, including so...
