17.07.2017- What I Wore Today #308


Aaaah, there’s nothing quite like the Great British Summer to make you realise just how important it is to have a wardrobe of multipurpose sartorial marvels! After a week of sweltering temperatures, we’ve lately been subject to more than a handful of deluges- which, whilst providing a welcome break in the weather, have seen me scratching my head of a morning in puzzlement about what to wear. Accommodating such changeable weather calls for the sort of style staples which can be easily layered up, and which receive a big practical tick too:

I always find it a bit tricky to keep my weekday wardrobe feeling summer-worthy when it’s bucketing it down outside, but, thanks to the discovery of this bright blouse from Next, have been able to team a splash of colour with some of my simpler everyday basics. As well as being a real mood-booster, the loose fit makes it ideal for throwing on when the weather is as changeable as it is at the moment- a dream purchase! This Zara jacket and pair of trousers are a regular fixture on these pages- perennial essentials which I reach for all of the time as they’re just so easy to style. Finally, another new comfortable addition to my wardrobe in the shape of these trainers from Nike- a long overdue sensible investment!

If I'm being totally honest, there aren't all that many things which will get me out of bed early at the weekends, let alone earlier than I would usually be up and out of the house during the week. 29.11.2017- London Loves: Glossier's Marylebone Pop Up

Another week, another post all about Glossier! Thankfully for my bank balance, I haven't raided their online shop again just yet, but instead made it along to their temporary store in Marylebone, which appeared at 32 Portland Place for a week from 15-22 November. Much like the UK online launch, the unveiling of this pop up space was hugely hyped, and something which was well worth a peruse one lunchtime: Tucked away just behind the BBC ( W1A quoting a-plenty!), this plush townhouse offered the perfect showcase for Glossier's signature aesthetic, with walls painted in millennial pink and gorgeous velvet sofas in a trendy hue of teal offering the perfect perch. Festooned with fresh flowers, the shop and showroom space spread across two floors, complete with all of Glossier's cult favourites and newly launched debut fragrance too. 30.01.2019- On Learning To Trust Yourself

So, here we are at the end of January- we made it! For some inexplicable reason, this month seems to last about a hundred times as long as any other, but it always feels like an achievement when you get to the end- a five week marathon of early morning alarms, cold weather and a seemingly neverending wait until payday.
